The Pot at the end of the Rainbow?

The blob of brown abutting Unit S9E2's South wall.
After four days of excavations, our first artifact of note finally came to the fore as students assigned to Unit S9E2 uncovered what appeared to be part of an earthenware pot abutting the South wall of the unit. If the unit was off by a mere 5 centimeters, we would not have exposed it.

Jose Santiago of NM taking shots of the partially exposed pot as depth measurements are about to be taken.

The abutting oblong-shaped brownware turned out to be an unusually-shaped earthenware pot, after Unit S8E2 had to be expanded by 2x1 meter into a new unit, S10E2. Little did we know that this would be a portent of things to come.

The pot takes a fine brushing as it is gradually exposed to the actual temperature that day.

The pot awaiting retrieval. Next week, we shall attempt to restore this to its past glory.
Below is the video made by Jose Santiago of the retrieval of the pot carried out by Dante Posadas and Jojo Bersales.
